Pages to download free images (and much more)

We have prepared a list with the best free resource websites where you will find photos, icons, vectors, illustrations, text effects, backgrounds, videos, sounds, flyers, catalogs, mockups, and more!

So take advantage and shine by saving a lot of time using creative commons resources!

Shine with the best free resources

PHOTOS

  • Pexels.com Is available in English and German versions, and as they explain, it is very difficult to understand the terms of the creative commons license, so they summarize that you can use the images for commercial use and without author attribution, as long as it is not for illegal or offensive content. You can make a voluntary donation.

  • Stokpic.com Every 2 weeks they upload 10 new photos. The only limit for using these photos is that redistribution is prohibited.

  • Stocksnap.io You have free and premium content and the website has ads, but it is worth checking out the gallery.

  • Gratisography.com Original high-resolution images for free and commercial use. They belong to Ryan McGuire, a professional photographer, and show great editing work.

PHOTOS / VIDEOS / GRAPHICS…

  • Freepick.es Photos, icons, vectors, mockups… thousands, high quality and also in Spanish. When you download a file from Freepik you get 2 options, the free download where you must attribute the author with a link on your website or pay a premium license of $9.99 monthly. In case you don’t know, mockups are those simulations with cups, wine bottles, t-shirts, business card stacks or Mac screens in minimalist settings. At Marabelia we use them to showcase our web portfolio, and you’ll look like a king if you show your design proposals to clients this way.

  • Pixabay.com Photos, vectors, illustrations and videos. When you click on a resource, on the right side, it specifies if the image can be used for commercial purposes and if attribution is needed (usually not), though you can buy the author a coffee with one click. Also available in Spanish.

  • Graphicburger.com This platform is amazing, you’ll find mock-ups, backgrounds, icons, text effects to download and use (do you know lightbox?) plus app interfaces for free. There is also a shop with selected resources and you have the option to buy the author a coffee when you download a free resource. As I said, this page is a gold mine for designers.

  • Pixeden.com Highlights include the print section with flyers, catalogs, business cards, brochures, etc., and the web section with html templates, wordpress, photoshop designs, css, and more. Also vectors, backgrounds, mock-ups, etc. Pixeden offers premium and free content.Screenshot of the pixeden.com website

  • Lifeofvids.com Specializing in videos, public use and free of restrictions.

SOUNDS AND MUSIC

  • Image and Sound Bank of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Photographs, videos, illustrations, animations and sounds. Although the images are not remarkable for their quality, we have included this website because on more than one occasion we have downloaded audio effects and music, and we will include it in a future post dedicated only to sound and music resources. Note that explicit mention of the source is required and it must not be used for commercial activities (it is aimed at education).

  • Ccmixter.org Community music site that promotes remix culture, you will find original samples, vocals, mixes, and final music legally downloadable for videos, games, podcasts… a marvel!

We recommend that when you download a resource you read its terms; within the Creative Commons license sometimes attribution is required or not, and usually its use is prohibited in certain types of content.

Oh! On many pages you will see sponsored images (smaller ones) that if you click will take you to a paid page, be careful! ;

And you, do you know any website with free resources to add to our list?
