Corporate social responsibility

Work Philosophy

Creating a positive work environment is the starting point and an essential condition for being part of the team. We want to work with people who are positive, proactive, and passionate about what they do, who know how to listen to clients and have problem-solving skills.

In our cooperative, we offer complete schedule flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance. We are fully aware of the significant challenges women face when returning to the job market after motherhood. We believe that each member is responsible and capable of managing their assigned tasks independently, which is why there’s no need to request special permission to be absent from work.

Commitment to the Client

Self-improvement and excellence in results are the standards by which we measure our own satisfaction in a project. We have a strong critical spirit and take full responsibility for our mistakes. Our commitment to the client is to offer a fair and balanced relationship: the client must understand the value of our time, and our team will be fully aware of the excitement and needs each client has regarding their project.

Work Methodology / Meetings and Timing

The client must understand the value of our time. Work meetings will only be held once the quote has been accepted and will take place at our offices, except for specific exceptions or large-scale projects.

If you are a mother or father, you are welcome to bring your child or baby to our offices. We have a play area reserved for little ones, and our team will take care of entertaining your child during the meeting.

Once the first meeting is over, we will invoice 50% of the total project cost. Work will begin once the client has made the payment. The average completion time for a project is 30 days, starting from the moment the client provides all the necessary/required information and the payment has been received.

The client will be updated regularly on the progress of their project and will provide specific feedback regarding the necessary changes to meet their expectations. If the client is unsure about what they want, they can delegate the creative responsibility to us, but they must be aware that the number of proposals is limited, and indecision or lack of direction is not a management task that falls within our scope. If the client is close to exceeding the allocated hours for their project, Marabelia will notify them accordingly. The budget can be increased if the additional hours are not due to methodological errors on our part.

All work produced by Marabelia may be included in our website portfolio unless the client explicitly requests otherwise, explaining the reasons or circumstances for keeping the project private.

Respect for the Environment

At Marabelia, we recycle paper, plastic, coffee capsules, and batteries. Our team believes that a small daily gesture, multiplied exponentially on a large scale, represents a necessary change at a global level.

Maternity and Work-Life Balance

Our company has implemented work-life balance policies related to flexible hours and self-management of work. Likewise, we support families who need to balance their responsibilities during the development of their business projects. At Marabelia, we have a children’s play area and provide assistance to those who come to our offices with their children or babies by offering childcare services during meetings. We are aware of the challenges parents face in balancing work and family life.

Code of Ethics

At Marabelia, we have a strict code of ethics, and our bylaws state that we WILL NOT undertake projects for companies, entities, associations, or political groups that promote or involve:

Breakdown of citizen coexistence values
We will not work on any project whose product, service, or internal code of ethics transmits any kind of homophobic, racist, sexist message or one that undermines citizen coexistence.

Environmental degradation or animal abuse
At Marabelia, we love animals and will not accept projects that involve or promote suffering, exploitation, or animal abuse: pet sales, breeding farms, bullfighting associations, slaughterhouses, etc. Nor will we work with companies whose activities cause or whose services generate harm to the environment.

Labor exploitation
We will not undertake work for groups or companies whose products or services involve labor exploitation. We will also not work on projects that may involve any type of sexual exploitation.

Deception and/or scams
We will not work on projects we consider scams for the end user: pyramid schemes, venture capital frauds, magical healers, smuggled Viagra, etc.

Gambling addiction
We will not work for physical or online betting houses. We understand that gambling addiction is a serious illness and do not want to be part of business projects that encourage money waste and harm people’s mental health.

Anorexia, vigorexia, and excessive aesthetics
We will not work with graphic material representing unhealthy bodies that could be classified as anorexic, vigorexic, or excessively surgically altered (uncontrolled aesthetic medicine). Such images will only be used to make a social denunciation of these behaviors. Therefore, we will work with photographs of models who show a healthy physical state within standard parameters.

After leaving their respective jobs at UPV in 2011, they decided to create Marabelia.

Cooperativism

Our cooperative is a horizontal society where no one is above anyone else. Each member must be capable of generating, through their work, enough profit to cover their salary and social security contributions, as well as extraordinary benefits for the maintenance and growth of the cooperative.

Work is measured according to productivity, excellence in results (client satisfaction), commercial ability (acquisition of new clients), and the scale of the projects developed.

People who collaborate with our team // freelancers (independent contractors), interns, and students on placement* // have the possibility to become members of the cooperative from the moment their work capacity and excellence deliver positive results in our financial balance. To join our team, you must first collaborate in one of the aforementioned modalities*.
