An immersive website for a scientific illustration studio
Metazoa Studio is the project of scientific illustrator Hugo Salais. The website needed to present work of extraordinary visual precision without competing with the imagery: a restrained, dark and minimalist structure that makes every illustration the true focus.
We designed and developed a digital experience consistent with the brand’s universe, featuring an animated homepage, clean navigation and a highly distinctive typographic identity. The result combines science, art and technology in a website that unfolds almost like an exhibition.
Design that turns a portfolio into an experience
The portfolio organises the scientific illustrations in a highly visual presentation and lets visitors explore them without distraction. Dark backgrounds, transitions and a restrained interface create depth, while the bilingual version makes the work accessible to international clients and collaborators.
WordPress development centred on visual content
The architecture separates portfolio, services, professional profile, blog and contact so that every area has a clear purpose. We adapted the experience to different devices and created straightforward content management, allowing the studio to add new work without disrupting the site’s visual language.
